The film's concept and plot begin on a train, when a message recorded on a cell phone abruptly stops after crossing the state line. A real-life situation initiates a transition to the realm of art: a short message becomes a documentary letter, the director’s poetic meditation on the importance and ubiquity of borders—in geography, history, and cinematography. Listening to the persistent background buzz, we follow the author on her existential journey through four cities consisting of real images, including the footage taken by the director’s father 25 years ago. These frames always bring us to some visible or invisible borders.
